Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find answers to the most common questions about Bellelina’s bridal services. Read them over, and if you still have a specific concern or question, I am just a phone call or email away.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Please reach out first with your wedding date, getting ready location and time you would like to be ready by. if the date is available, then you can book your trial appointment online on the website, if you’d like. Please note that the date is secured only after signing a bridal contract (that will be emailed to you) and paying a deposit, which is a bridal package of your choosing. Deposit can be made via website, by check or via Venmo.

Do I have to schedule a trial?

If there are ANY concerns about a particular makeup style (the longevity, comfort level, how it looks on you), I highly recommend a trial. This way we can spend the time figuring out your perfect unique style (which might end up not being the initial style you had in mind) without stressing about it on your actual wedding day. That said, I do not think that a trial is necessary for every bride, just depends on your particular needs. If choosing Simple Bride package, please send photos of your desired makeup look, Pinterest board with your overall wedding vision and photo of you ahead of time so I have a better idea of your needs.

Do you provide on site services? What are the travel fees?

Trials, spray tans and any other additional appointments are done at my studio, but I do travel on location for the actual wedding. There is no travel fee within the Peninsula area of Charleston (parking fee if applicable only). The standard $50 travel fee covers travel to most parts outside of the downtown area (Kiawah and Seabrook islands, IOP, Sullivan’s and Folly beaches, Monks Corner, Goose Creek, plantations). Anything outside of those areas and traveling to other cities will have additional fees based on location. There is also an additional $75 early morning fee (services beginning before 9am) and holiday fee.

How do I pay and when are payments due?

Upon signing the contract you will be asked to pay a deposit (any bridal package) to secure your date. The remainder is due on the day of the event. Check, cash, credit card and Venmo are all accepted.

What is the maximum number of people you can do?

My maximum number of people is 7-8 including the bride. I work alone and don’t have any assistants, so in order to make sure I have enough time for everyone without compromising quality of my work, I found 7 people to be the sweet spot.

What products do you use?

I specialize in airbrush makeup and cannot say enough about it. South Carolina weather is very humid and often hot which means conventional makeup can easily melt off. I find airbrush makeup to be very effective for long-lasting, sweat-proof, transfer resistant, natural finish. Some brides have had bad experience with airbrush in the past and are turned off thinking they will have a thick face of makeup made for TV Reporters. This is simply not the case in how I apply the product. In fact, most brides agree that airbrush makeup is actually less thick than what they wear on a daily basis and are pleasantly surprised with its durability and natural skin-like appearance. Airbrush makeup is a great choice for most Charleston brides and I highly recommend it for the best results.

I also use a wide range of products from many different brands, such as Tarte, MakeUp ForEver, Sigma, Pat McGrath, Stila, ByTerry, Nars, Smashbox etc. I do not solely use one makeup brand company. Only high quality and high performing products are in my kit to ensure your makeup is flawless on camera. All products are tested for performance prior to making it into my collection. Please contact me with any questions regarding allergies in your party.

What are individual/cluster false Lashes? Are they the same as Lash Extensions?

Instead of strip lashes, I do beautiful individual/cluster lash application which looks absolutely seamless and gives the effect of full, luscious lashes. It makes a big difference in pictures too, but even up close they are stunning and very real. These are temporary lashes and use the same glue as a strip lash, which means they will come off when you wash your face (although there are brides who have been careful and worn them more than one day). These are not Lash Extensions which use a permanent glue and last 2-3 weeks.
